Chapter House Gets Summer Make Over
With the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop being held at Purdue in early August and the Centennial Celebration just around the corner on September 13 – 15, Butch Brose and his hardy band of workers have been busy doing regular maintenance, repairs and refreshing of the Chapter House over the summer.
Public Rooms Refreshed
The Great Hall, Dining Room and Game Room all got “refreshed” with new coats of paint on the Great Hall ceiling and plaster walls; the Game Room was repainted, along with getting new curtains; and the Dining Room had new quarry tile laid in the night kitchen area. The entrance foyer was also painted.
Furniture repair and replacement was also arranged with the House Corporation having eight new chairs custom made for the Great Hall tables. The coffee table in the Great Hall was refinished and 19 new chairs for the Dining Room were purchased. New carpeting was installed on the steps off the balcony and new area rugs were purchased for the Great Hall.
Annual Maintenance Completed
In all the student study rooms any necessary touch up painting or minor repairs were done and repairs to a number of armoires were completed. All floors, bathrooms and kitchen were thoroughly cleaned.
Thanks Brothers Brose and Lozanoski
Special thanks as always goes to Butch Brose for his commitment to making the house ready for the return of our undergrad brothers and for our special events. Nate Lozanoski ’13 worked closely with Butch and was instrumental in completing so much work and making us all proud to call 202 Littleton our home.
