Chapter Sweetheart Finalist for International Sweetheart Title
Sigma Chi Fraternity just announced their finalists for the Fraternity’s International Sweetheart and Delta Delta Sweetheart Cecilia Daizovi is one of three women vying for this prestigious recognition. The attendees at the 80th Grand Chapter, held in San Diego in late June, will choose the winner who will serve during the 2015 to 2017 biennium.
Cecelia is a senior studying public relations and strategic communication and a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She was recognized by the university’s president, Mitch Daniels, as one of the school’s 50 top student leaders, and was one of 15 students who were selected to participate in a policy class taught by former U.S. ambassador to Belize Carolyn Curiel and C-SPAN founder Brian Lamb. Additionally, Cecelia is an accomplished baton twirler, having won five U.S. Grand National baton twirling titles, the highest award in the United States. She also represented the United States in five consecutive world championships.
Embodies the Values of the White Cross
Consul Max Long wrote in Cecelia’s nomination, "Not only does Cecilia embody all of the values of the White Cross we strive for as Sigma Chi’s, but she completely changed what the Sweetheart now means to our Chapter. She took a great love for the position right from the beginning of her term. Not only did she take an interest in the Fraternity as a whole, but it seemed as if it was her mission to develop a personal relationship with each and every one of our brothers."
Enjoying Every Second of the Journey
Prior to the most recent holiday season, Cecilia wrote a letter to the Delta Delta brothers that read, "I have learned so much about Sigma Chi and enjoyed every second of this journey [as Sweetheart], and I cannot wait to one day bring my children to this house; my greatest hope in life is to have a handsome son who rushes Sigma Chi, and a beautiful daughter who marries one."
All the brothers wish Cecelia the best as she travels to San Diego. It would be a first if we could sing the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi to the International Sweetheart from Delta Delta.
