Delta Delta Recognized for Philanthropy

Consul Matt Rittman ’18 commented, “It was a great day for Delta Delta as the active chapter received the Richard E. Hester "Living Our Values Everyday" Philanthropy Award. This was a great credit to the increasing emphasis our chapter has placed on philanthropy over the past few years.” This award recognized the ongoing commitment to a number of local organizations including Lafayette Urban Ministry, Special Olympics – Indiana, Riley Hospital for Kids, College Mentors for Kids, and the chapter’s Derby Days fund raiser for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The chapter raised $29,935 for various philanthropic organizations and our brothers donated 2,019 hours of their time to community service.

Joe Micon, Executive Director of Lafayette Urban Ministry, wrote, “Through their work with our organization, the members of Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity have made our community a stronger, safer and more fair and just place for everyone. We are proud of these young men. They are great representatives of their chapter, the Greek community, Purdue University and their generation. They give us great hope for the future.”
