In recognition of your remarkable medical career, including 11 years on the faculty of Duke University before you moved in 1992 to Ann Arbor, Mich., to become the Fred Jenner Hodges professor and radiology department chairman at the University of Michigan.

In honor of your authorship of 306 scientific papers, 62 book chapters and 10 books on various aspects of radiology; your service as visiting professor to 77 medical centers, as guest faculty for 446 continuing medical education courses, where you have delivered 26 named lectures; and in tribute to your service on the editorial boards of 13 peer-reviewed medical journals.
