Hutton ‘94 Rings Nasdaq Bell

Five years after taking Biodesix public during the Covid-19 pandemic, Significant Sig Scott Hutton ’94 had the honor of ringing the Nasdaq Stock Market closing bell at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square on October 28th, 2025.

Scott and other members of the Biodesix (BDSX) leadership team were in New York to celebrate the five-year anniversary of their Initial Public Offering. Biodesix develops diagnostic solutions focused on lung cancer and is driven to improve clinical care and outcomes for patients.  The event was broadcast live on the financial news networks and displayed on Nasdaq’s massive outdoor screens. Scott remarked, “It was an honor to celebrate the five-year anniversary of our Nasdaq IPO. The last five years have been extremely rewarding and fulfilling for the Biodesix team – whose commitment, courage, passion, resilience, and competitive spirit have empowered and enabled countless healthcare professionals to make a difference for patients battling lung cancer. I would like to thank the Biodesix team, board of directors, investors, partners, healthcare professionals, and the patients and families who inspire us daily and made this milestone possible.”

Hutton Recognized for Leadership

Scott was selected as Chief Executive Officer of Biodesix, Inc, in January 2020. That year he was named 2020 CEO of the Year USA by CEO Monthly for his leadership in bringing the company through a challenging, but record-breaking year, while launching three new precision diagnostic tests and taking the company public in 2020. The Biodesix culture has thrived under Scott’s leadership and was recently recognized as an Inc. Magazine 2024 Best Workplace and Denver Post Top Workplace of 2025. Most recently, Scott was named one of the Top 25 (#2) Biotech and Life Sciences Executives of 2025 by The Healthcare Technology Report.

Credits Days at Delta Delta

Scott continues to recognize his time at 202 Littleton as pivotal in his personal leadership journey and career successes. Scott offered, “I do not believe I would be where I am today, nor would I have achieved what I have, without my attending Purdue University and becoming a Delta Delta Sigma Chi. It really began early on during pledgeship as I found the Sigma Chi core values to resonate and inspire. Also, the fraternity surrounded me with what I believe was some of the best and brightest at Purdue. My fellow Sigma Chi brothers inspired me and motivated me. I continually strive to make Purdue and Sigma Chi proud.”

Scott and his family have enjoyed returning to Purdue more this Fall as their oldest son, Ryder, is a freshman at Purdue. Scott was honored to surprise Ryder and his Delta Delta ’29 pledge brothers by returning to their initiation ceremonies.
