Delta Delta House Corporation Earns Gold Award
Each year Sigma Chi’s Board of Grand Trustees recognizes those Sigma Chi House Corporations that have best served their undergraduate chapter, while adhering to best management practices. The Delta Delta House Corporation was recently recognized as a recipient of the Outstanding House Corporation Award, Gold status. We were one of 56 House Corporations who attained the Gold Award level.
Meeting Select Criteria
This recognition is based on meeting specific criteria on House Corporation Structure, Chapter House Management and Communications & Fundraising.
These criteria emphasize the need to hold regular board meetings; have written bylaws and rental agreements; have short and long term plans to maintain the facility; and publish regular newsletters, have an alumni database and website, and have an ongoing program for soliciting alumni contributions.
The Grand Trustees began the Outstanding House Corporation Award in 2006 to showcase House Corporations that were doing a great job and to inspire others to better performance by teaching best practices. In each year Delta Delta has applied for the award it has won Gold Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2018.
Dedicated Brothers Take Part
The Delta Delta House Corporation is comprised of 18 – 20 members led by House Corp President Tom Hall ’80, Secretary Bob Andreone ‘80 and Treasurer Chris Horney ’08. Other members are part of various committees focusing on scholarship awards, chapter finances, building maintenance, alumni relations and communication, archives, legal matters, and the Annual Fund.
Tom Hall ’80 passed on his congratulations to the Delta Delta board for their dedication and involvement. The goal of our House Corp is to maintain and keep current the chapter house amenities so the house remains an attractive and safe place to live. It also expects the undergraduates to manage the day to day upkeep and cleanliness of the chapter house.
Active Board Supports Chapter Success
Having an active House Corporation is one of the keys to having a strong chapter. The House Corp works closely with the undergraduates to help them meet expectations while demonstrating our alumni’s love and respect for the chapter house. Consul Bryce Cirbo sent an email that read, “Worthy Alumni, thank you to everyone who contributes to the chapter! We undergrads know that the main reason the chapter house stays up on the top of the hill is because of strong alumni support!”
Support from All Alumni is Necessary
For those alumni brothers actively involved in the chapter your efforts are deeply appreciated. For those who are unable to participate on the board, your contributions to the Annual Fund are crucial to our success. Having the funds available to maintain the chapter house makes all this possible.
Congratulations again to the Delta Delta House Corporation. This recognition is well deserved.
