COVID Pandemic Creating Financial Hardship for Many Fraternities
House Corp President Tom Hall ‘81 sat in on several fraternity related Zoom calls this summer and learned that the National Interfraternity Council is expecting many fraternal organizations to struggle with membership (numbers and quality) and financially in the coming months and years due to COVID.
Regarding Delta Delta’s status Tom stated, “As a result of the generosity of our alumni over the years and the Future Fund, Delta Delta is one of the few chapters in a relatively strong financial position. This is primarily a result of not having a mortgage and financial reserves in the Future Fund.”
Additional Alumni Financial Support Needed
Although we are better off than most, it is critical that we continue to contribute to the Future Fund and build additional reserves to offset expected revenue shortfalls due to lower chapter house occupancy. All alumni recently received a request to support the Future Fund. For those who have contributed we are grateful. We would encourage all our alumni to consider making a donation this year to support the undergraduate chapter as they deal with the challenges of this pandemic on their Sigma Chi experience.
How to Contribute
To contribute online go to Future Fund and under “Choose a Fund” select Chapter Funds and then Delta Delta. Checks can also be made out to Sigma Chi Foundation and mailed to:
