This press release was sent February 2, 2021.
SCLI expands learning services with Ramp Up Your Resilience course for Purdue University’s Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI).
Following its achievement of accreditation candidacy within Middle States Association Commission of Elementary Schools and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) in late December 2020, Sigma Chi Leadership Institute (SCLI) is excited to expand its offerings as a learning service provider to valued partners.
Sigma Chi Leadership Institute (SCLI) is proud to announce a leadership development partnership with Purdue University’s Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI) within its Polytechnic Institute located in West Lafayette, Indiana.
“This is another milestone for Sigma Chi and the impact of its transformational leadership values and for the Greek-letter landscape,” says SCLI Chairman Mike Greenberg, ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 1982. “We are thrilled to partner with such a forward-thinking, innovative collaborator in Purdue’s TLI team and department. The possibilities for this partnership grow by the day, and we are very excited to build a bright future together for undergraduate students.”
For the past two years, Purdue and SCLI stakeholders collaborated on the integral social skills and leadership competencies needed for undergraduate students to succeed and evolve on college campuses. The shared vision between the two organizations led to an initial focus on resilience and the importance of overcoming adversity; these areas of focus have become especially important amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Purdue and SCLI first will be launching a six-week online course titled, “Ramp Up Your Resilience” utilizing master certified SCLI Tracom Resilience instructors Robert Rabe, LOYOLA (CHICAGO), and Dr. Abigaile VanHorn and the Clifton Strengths online talent assessment. The focus is using a strengths-based approach to personal development for enrolled students.
“We are thrilled to have this unique opportunity to partner with Sigma Chi Leadership Institute and bring the Ramp Up Your Resilience course to Purdue’s Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation this spring. I am certain these efforts will benefit the next generation of Purdue leaders in their roles on campus and beyond,” says Beth McCuskey, vice provost for student life at Purdue.
The Ramp Up Your Resilience course provides an integrative approach to leadership development through a unique online program designed to enhance the self-awareness dimension of Transformational Leadership.
This six-week program provides a bridge between Purdue’s Strengths-based campus initiatives and Tracom’s Resilience Program in a way that prepares students for collaborative endeavors and leadership opportunities. Ramp Up Your Resilience will launch in early March to more than 50 TLI students at Purdue.
Sigma Chi Fraternity also will launch its first resilience program to seven chapters in April through SCLI’s Quest for Resiliency curriculum within the Foundational Leadership Certificate.
