33rd Annual Delta Delta Alumni Golf Outing Has Great Day
The sun shone brightly on the 68 brothers out on the Kampen-Cosler golf course on June 8th. The course was in great shape for the serious and not so serious golfers. Regardless of the level of golf skill all the Sigs had a great time catching up with their pledge brothers and the other Sigs in attendance.

Great Time, Great Scores
As challenging as the course played, especially with the wind factored in, there were some great scores turned in. The winning foursome of Frank Speek, Jordan Eddy, Paul Leffler and Jack Coon, all from the Class of 2015, shot an impressive 15 under par. Second place went to the foursome from the Class of 1977 of Steve Cosler, Tom Schneider, Mike Espenlaub and Phil Steele at 11 under par. Third place went to Eric Morgan, Craig Johnson, Jason Baker, Jeff Hosp and Brian Griffith, all Class of 1995, at minus 10. Other awards went to Jack Coon ‘15 and Jim MacDonald ‘80 for closest to the pin on two designated holes and Bob Smith ’65 took home longest drive honors.
Pledge Classes Have Strong Showing
It was great to see the strong attendance from the Classes of 1977, 1968 and 1980. The Class of ’77 had 13 from their class in attendance. It was also fun to note from how many distant states brothers traveled …. Texas, Florida, California and Connecticut.
Future Events Highlighted
At the dinner held at the chapter house following the golf we got an update from Jeff McKean on next year’s 150th Anniversary celebration, and from Phil Steele on how the chapter revitalization efforts were going. Special guest Sig Doug Hill also invited all those in attendance to take part in the Folds of Honor Sigma Chi Golf Outing being held at the Jack Nickalus designed American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan, on September 16th.
As always, our thanks goes to Brian Griffith ’95 for his work to organize and pull off this outing with the help of Steve Smith ’97 and Butch Brose ’09.
150th Anniversary Celebration Dates Set
Next year’s outing will be part of the 150 Anniversary Celebration from June 12 – 15. We hope every Sig can return for this outstanding tribute to the success and history of our chapter. Mark Your Calendars To Attend Now!!!

Great to see the Class ‘68 is well represented this year. I hope to make next year’s event and reunite with all who can make it.
