35th Annual Golf Outing Builds Class Unity
The weather was ideal for the 35th Annual Delta Delta Alumni golf outing held on June 13th. After last year’s huge turnout for our 150th Anniversary celebration, the numbers were smaller, but for those in attendance, it was a wonderful opportunity to play some golf and share time with Sigs of all generations. The Classes of 1968 and 1977 had their usual strong showing with several brothers also returning from the Classes of ’80 – ’86. Phil Steele ’77 noted, “It was fun to play with some of the younger players and share stories from our respective eras and hear about their careers and families.”

Young Sigs Take Top Honors
Although more senior golfers were participating, it was the youngest team that took top honors. There is just something about being younger that makes everything easier. The team of Drew Greene ’19, Brady Fleming ’19, Jay Jennings ’19 and Dan Montgomery ’19 shot an impressive 13 under par on the very challenging Kampen-Cosler course at Purdue.
Following the golf the Sigs returned to the chapter house for dinner, awards and a raffle drawing. It was another great event organized by Brian Griffiths ’95 and Jeff McKean ’86. Special thanks go out to Jay Milligan and Butch Brose ’09 for getting the house ready for the brother’s return. As always everything looked great.
We also need to thank those brothers who sponsored a hole. This included Dan Montgomery ’19, Bob Kaley ’68, Preston Cobb ’77, Mike Espenlaub ’77, Brian Dawson ’77, Phil Steele ’77, Dave Westerbeck ’83, John Wysockey ’85, Jeff McKean ’86, Brian Griffiths ’95 and Steve Smith ’98.
Golf Outing Keeps Us Connected
Whether you play golf or not, this annual event has kept pledge classes and brothers of all eras connected for the past 35 years. Having an opportunity once a year to return to the chapter house and Purdue to share our memories and current lives has been essential to the long-term success of our chapter. Because of this we encourage all our brothers, especially those in the classes of 2000 to 2025, to begin your own pledge class tradition of returning to 202 Littleton every year.
