Chapter Shares Good News and Upcoming Plans
Sigs Have Busy Summer

The undergrads have returned to 202 Littleton and are excited about the upcoming year. Recruitment has already begun with Recruitment Chairmen Jack Steadham ’28 and Richard Obert ’27 organizing two summer rush events held in Indianapolis. Also, over the past few weeks Jackson Theobald ’29 and Brett Odgers ’29 attended Horizons, and Hayden Garten ’28, Jack Shertzer ’28 and Nathan Blied ’27 took part in the Krach Transformational Leadership Workshop (KTLW). Jackson remarked, “There is so much more to Sigma Chi than what people see on the surface. I have made many new friendships and learned more in a week than I ever thought I could through the Horizons program.”
Chapter Earns Peterson Award
Consul Preston Bunch ’28 reported, “At KTLW Delta Delta was one of just 61 chapters to receive the Peterson Award in 2026. We also learned that Delta Delta this spring raised the most money for philanthropy among Purdue’s 42 fraternities. The spring semester cumulative GPA for the chapter was 3.25. This placed the Sigs ranked 16th among all fraternities.
Our chapter advisor team of Nate Gustus ‘05, Brett Dean ‘97 and Steve Boyce ’98 worked closely with the Consul and Pro Consul to review scheduled social functions and as a result the chapter did not receive any sanctions throughout the past school year. Later this fall, the Sigs are planning an all-house formal in Nashville, Tennessee, October 23 – 25 with 52 brothers signed up to attend.
Bell Chapter Endowment

Gavin Philipps ’95 and Brian Schultz ’96 are leading the way in implementing the Bell Chapter Endowment leadership workshops for the chapter in the coming year. Each session addresses undergraduate defined topics incorporating Sigma Chi values and expectations.
Alumni Honors Dinner
The chapter is also honored to host an Alumni Honors Dinner at Delta Delta on November 14 for two new Significant Sigs, James Cole ’98 and Brian Wilson ’98. Bernie Sergesketter ’58 will also be honored for his lifetime of service to the Fraternity.
Life Loyal Sigs
Consul Bunch concluded, “We were recently informed that our chapter was recognized by the International Fraternity for having the most Life Loyal Sigs of any Sigma Chi chapter. We’d like to thank our many alumni for their tremendous support of the chapter and Sigma Chi Fraternity. This dedication and commitment inspire our younger brothers to build on the positive direction our chapter continues to move in.”
